Even though the Lady Wildcat basketball team lost two safety guard seniors, Ariel Cook and Lindsay Turner, they still have three remaining starters. Senior players now include: senior guard Kennadi Howard, senior post Jamie Everett, and junior post Emily Speakman, who also happens to lead the Lady Cats in points.
Some other players who see some action on the court are: sophomore’s Kaitlyn Pitts and Sydney Curnes in rotation, freshman Reagan Blissard who plays in guard position, sophomore guard Lindsey Nolan, a senior post Kelsey Vollenwider, and an experienced three point shooting senior Cari Vollenwider.
There are a lot of new, fresh players stepping up this season and running with the varsity players. Watching the young players success gives viewers a good outlook on the upcoming seasons.
Some players on the team said their biggest goal this year is to move further along in districts than they did last season. Fellow coaches and classmates have noticed that the Lady Cats biggest advantage is their height. Coach Shore is looking for the experienced players to step up, and for the newcomers to make a big impact in the following years.
The Lady Cats record so far this is 7-8, and they are only searching for room to improve.
